RAPPER FOR A DAY

The final event of the creative laboratory "Rapper for a day" developed for the European I.COM Project will take place on October 26th 2021 at Villa Medicea in Seravezza with a meeting in presence of international partners.

The initiative involves around two hundred students from seven European countries.

Co-financed by the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund of the European Union, I.COM was led by Terre Medicee Foundation of Seravezza and Alfea Cinematografica participated as a Partner together with the Sports Medicine Unit of the University of Pisa, the Maison des Cultures et de la Cohésion Sociale of Molenbeek (Brussels), Arts Council of Malta, Association Pluralis, Technological University Dublin, KISA NGO of Cyprus, Organization for Aid to Refugees (OPU) of Prague and the District of Cenes de la Vega (Granada).

Started in December 2018 and extended to 2021 for reasons related to the Covid19 pandemic, I.COM has set itself the goal of building a new approach to the integration of young migrants and disadvantaged adolescents through a series of rap music workshops (laboratories). I.COM has proved to be a winner thanks to the choice to convey its message through music, an art capable of uniting and connecting people of all backgrounds and cultures.

Aimed at minors, both migrants and non-migrants, the music workshop (laboratory) held in Pisa between April and last July by Alfea Cinematografica saw the collaboration of the Social Cooperative “Il Simbolo”, which has been carrying out for more than 20 years an activity aimed at minors in the state of abandonment or momentarily deprived of parental support. At the end of the workshop, the boys and girls taking part had the opportunity to use a professional audio recording studio where they recorded some musical pieces created during their experience giving life to a real album.

All the project activity has been documented with video and photo shoots in all the European countries involved in the project, this has allowed Alfea Cinematografica to produce a documentary with the aim of giving life to a moment of sharing of the work done between the various partners.

The I.Com documentary and the music CD made by the boys and girls will be presented at the final event.
