First shot in Garfagnana for the docufiction "L'Orizzonte Chiuso" starring Neri Marcorè, produced by Rai Fiction and Alberto Gabbrielli for Alfea Cinematografica.

The docufiction tells the little-known story of a group of about 70 Jews defined as foreigners by the fascist regime who, between 1941 and 1943, were forced to live in "free internment", or forced residence, in Castelnuovo di Garfagnana. The two years of forced coexistence allowed, despite the prohibitions, the development of relations of various kinds between the group of interned Jews and the local community, sometimes of conflicts and misunderstandings, but above all of mutual help and solidarity. However, the horrors of the second World War will end up disrupting this reality as well.

The story is based on the book "L'Orizzonte Chiuso" by Silvia Angelini, Oscar Guidi and Paola Lemmi, published by Maria Pacini Fazzi Editore.

The docufiction is directed by Luca Brignone, the screenplay is by Mario Cristiani, Cosetta Lagani and Stefano Nannipieri. The creative producer is Cosetta Lagani and the executive producer is Stefania Balduini.  The docufiction is realized in collaboration and with the scientific advice of the Fondazione Centro di Documentazione Ebraica Contemporanea - CDEC of Milan.

The filming will be made entirely between the municipalities of Castelnuovo Garfagnana, Castiglione Garfagnana and the surrounding areas, as well as in the spaces of the Shoah Memorial in Milan, from the track below the Central Station, which the trains to Auschwitz departed from.
